However, Mr Frydenberg told the ABC on Monday morning that South Australia had successfully delivered a small business support package over the past week without coming to the federal government for assistance and NSW could not ask the federal government to jointly fund every program. The South Australian business support package is worth $50 million and includes a range of supports including grants for those who have received a drop in turnover of 50 per cent or more in January.
“So we have got measures in place to support households and businesses, but we can’t fund every program that the state government comes up with,” he said. “They have got their responsibilities, and we [have] got ours and we’ll continue to meet our obligations.”
