Unifor, the Canadian union that represents workers at General Motors Co. plants in that country, has ratified a three-year contract with GM.. Unifor said the vote was 80.5% in favor. The contract covers union-represented workers at Oshawa Assembly Complex and CCA Stamped Products, St. Catharines Powertrain Plant and Woodstock Parts Distribution Centre, all in Ontario.before reaching a tentative settlement. The union said the GM contract matches the basic terms of a new contract at Ford Motor Co.
Unifor workers at GM walked off the job for less than a day after the union said the automaker resisted matching terms of the Ford-Unifor contract.
