Not-for-profit Canberra Pet Rescue is forced to halt some of its operations and rebuild after vandals left its Curtin location with 'thousands of dollars worth of damage' on Tuesday night.

Due to the damage at Canberra Pet Rescue, the charity is not taking in any new animals at the moment."People need the help, our carers need the stuff we don't have it to give to them anymore," she said. But Ms Doelle said a bright spot following the extensive damage was the "amazing support from the community" the charity had received, with some volunteers working "well into the night" to salvage what they could from the mess.
