In the wake of about 40 national costumes being stolen from the Slovenian Australian Association, the community is holding sewing bees to recreate the outfits 'rich in cultural heritage'.
Earlier this year more than 40 traditional costumes "rich in cultural heritage" were stolen from the Slovenian Australian Association.
"These costumes were collected over decades, and some were generously donated by our members," she said. "We decided not to despair and we wanted to turn this into a positive, so we came together as a community to take action," she said. "I have become the costume historian and researcher and project manager for this wonderful escapade," she said."As a costumer myself, I was just blown away," she said."I know how much time it takes to make a costume, and to have that done is just such a cruel and horrible thing can really strike a blow to a community.
