The Canyon Speedmax CFR Track is the result of two years of intensive development.
The Canyon Speedmax CFR Track is the result of two years of intensive development, that required no fewer than 312 wind tunnel analyses, 442 supercomputer runs, and 155 hours of track testing with some of the world’s finest track cyclists; Team USA’sChloe Dygert is running tubular tires from Vittoria, while Team Denmark is running Continental’s clincher type tires
The Canyon Speedmax CFR Track Bike weighs a claimed 8.2 kg in a size medium, with the frame coming in around 1,200 grams. For reference, the minimum weight stipulated by the UCI is 6.8 kg. It would have been no problem for Canyon to develop a bike of 6.8 kg, but weight is not the top priority in Track bike design. The Speedmax CFR Track is Canyon’s first ever track bike.
Development was centered largely around pro athlete feedback. While it was Chloe Dygert’s ideas that shaped the original prototype, it was the Danish team riders that provided feedback over many months of track testing, what with Chloe sidelined by injury and illness.
