Mr Fitzgibbon added the momentum of Trump’s inauguration will be “with us for some time to come”, and meant it was time for Labor to"listen to what people are saying”. “But we've seen what overreach does. We've seen the outcome of overreach here in the United States and we need to be careful not to overreach at home as well.”
“So I think all political parties in Australia and in every Western democracy will have to be rethinking and calibrating both their policy and campaigning approaches with it,” he said.
