If he is convicted, the charges, which include allegations of conspiring to hack government computers and espionage, could lead to a maximum sentence of 175 years behind bars. “The defence for Julian Assange is making the argument that Julian should not be extradited to the United States because he exposed criminality of the United States,” Mr Gosztola told Sky News host Brent O’Halloran. “We heard from Paul Rogers … that Julian Assange is being targeted for his political opinions.
