'I’m articulating a strong, compelling vision for the future of this country — to make the country the smartest, the healthiest, the fairest and the most prosperous nation on Earth,' said the former HUD secretary

Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro said Sunday morning he isn’t worried about his favorability ratings just yet, joking with CNN’s Jake Tapper that his numbers were so low that they didn’t even warrant CNN showing a graphic on the screen.

“My favorability over the last, I guess, month and a half, went up by 6 points,” Castro said on “State of the Union.““I got out to Iowa a couple of weeks ago. You know, I’m articulating a strong, compelling vision for the future of this country — to make the country the smartest, the healthiest, the fairest and the most prosperous nation on Earth.”

Castro — who served as mayor of his native San Antonio until taking on the post of secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama — announced his presidential bid Jan. 12, joining an already crowded Democratic field.
