The RSPCA has slammed the 'horrific act of animal cruelty' and pleaded for the public to help locate the person who set the trap. 9News
"The cat was seen to be dragging the affected leg, and subsequent x-rays confirmed several fractures and nerve damage had occurred as a result of the trap," RSCPA Victoria said in a statement.
"Due to the severe nature of the cat's injuries his entire limb was amputated to prevent any further infections or complications.
