Wesfarmers chief executive Rob Scott confirmed the move following Rear Window’s article on Monday, noting the marketplace will become part of a new data and digital division.
Wesfarmers boss Rob Scott is on the hunt for a new head of marketplace Catch Group after he confirmed that Pete Sauerborn will leave the business, and the small company will become part of a new data and digital division.Catch operates an online marketplace selling products such as food and liquor, clothing, footwear, furniture, sporting goods, electronics and games.
“Each of our divisions is developing significant capabilities in data analytics and digital services to meet the specific needs of their customers,” he said.“Wesfarmers’ OneDigital will complement these divisional capabilities, particularly through the benefits of the shared data platform and OnePass program. This will provide greater value, expanded range and a more seamless experience for customers across the group’s retail businesses.
However, under Mr Sauerborn’s short tenure active customers doubled to 3 million, and Catch is on track to open a new fulfilment centre in Sydney this half after it launched a new subscription service.
