Transport Minister Catherine King is refusing to appear before the Senate Inquiry into examining the government’s decision to block extra Qatar Airways flights from coming into Australia. “It is highly unusual for House of Representatives Ministers to appear before Senate inquiries,” Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell said. “But the Prime Minister was wrong this morning to say it never happened,' he said. Mr Clennell stated former prime minister Scott Morrison appeared before the senate in 2014 when he was immigration minister to speak about the government’s boat turnback policy and Labor minister Ross Free also appeared before the senate in 1992. Clennell’s comments come as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday said “no House of Representatives member has ever appeared before a Senate inquiry, this is a stunt”.
