The ruling comes into play with the NBA’S Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NBA Player’s Association , which instituted a new player participation policy.in April 2023. The agreement went into effect July 1, 2023 and remains in effect through the 2029-30 NBA season. This does not include a season-ending injury, which the CBA states a player must have played 85% of the games they appeared in prior to suffering the season-ending injury.
