Even without injured center Jarrett Allen, the No. 1 defensive team in the league made its presence felt Friday. As the Cavs look forward to the playoffs, they plan to stay a defensive force to be reckoned with.
Washington’s Kristaps Porzingis, who finished with 20 points, a game-high nine rebounds and a team-high two steals in 32 minutes, said the Cavs’ pressure was the main reason behind the turnovers.
“Their pressure, for sure -- they’re the No. 1 defense in the league and you could feel it,” he said. “They’re blowing up all the handoffs and they’re not giving up on plays. They’re helping each other, trusting each other, and they made us turn the ball over a lot and proved that’s the type of defense they play and that’s the type of team they are.”
