🔴 Breaking: CBI boss Tony Danker sacked following misconduct allegations
The boss of one of the UK’s largest business groups has been sacked after an investigation into complaints about his conduct at work.
Tony Danker, the director-general of the Confederation of British Industry , has been dismissed with immediate effect and will be replaced by Rain Newton-Smith. Mr Danker stepped aside from his role in March after it emerged that the CBI was investigating his conduct with a female employee.has published a series of articles revealing sexual misconduct claims against a number of CBI employees.
Three other CBI employees have been suspended pending further investigation, the board said in a statement released on Tuesday.In its statement, the lobby group’s board said the allegations made against the firm had been “devastating” and apologised to victims of “organisations failues”, which include the allegation of rape at a summer boat party in 2019.
However, it said it has “determined that [Mr Danker’s] own conduct fell short of that expected of the Director General”.
