Footage shows the man holding what appears to be a gun at the car before the driver flees out the garage's closing door, breaking it down in his desperation to get away.
Just before the incident the white station wagon can be seen entering the underground carpark of the apartment complex on Roberts Road in West Footscray about 8.50pm on May 16.A man in a red hoodie, jeans and runners runs into the carpark before the security door closes behind the car.The driver then manages to turn the station wagon around and speed out of the car park, smashing through the door.
Police have released the footage in hope of finding the man, who is believed to be Caucasian in appearance, in his late 40s and to have brown/grey hair.
