Police are searching for a group of offenders who broke into an urban farm in Melbourne's north before stealing a tractor and causing significant damage. Investigators say the group arrived at the Bundoora Park Farm on e-bikes at about 12:15am on the morning of Sunday, 20 September, before breaking into several sheds and stealing garden tools.
Police said they fled the scene when an alarm went off, leaving the tractor's engine running as they left on the bikes. The Bundoora Park Farm announced on social media that it was closed at the start of last week due to "significant vandalism". The council-run urban farm offers educational programs in agriculture and horticulture as well as functions, work experience and animal handling.
Investigators released vision of the ram raid today and urged anyone who saw the group to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
