ARLINGTON — Odell Beckham Jr. has been the object of the Cowboys desire for weeks. It’s time to show a little more appreciation for the receivers they have....
. But the longer Jerry Jones and others obsess over luring the veteran receiver here for the stretch run, the better CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup perform.
A young player who struggled in the lead receiver role to open the season, Lamb has asserted himself in recent weeks. His confidence and impact grows. Lamb led Dallas with five receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. His whirling reception on third-and-nine on the Cowboys’ second possession, when he was slung down but landed on top of a defender and bounced up for the 20-yard score, staked the Cowboys to a 7-3 lead.
“CeeDee, everyone keeps asking about CeeDee,” McCarthy said. “I mean, he just keeps cashing in each and every week, every time that he gets more opportunities. Had some excellent plays today. The Cowboys have now scored 40 or more points in three of the last five games. Dallas is averaging 39.8 points in that stretch.
