' He solidified his legacy as the King of Pop with his followup, 'Thriller,' which became the best selling album of all time with 70 million copies sold worldwide. In 2021, it was certified 34 times platinum. Jackson's videos also helped popularize and elevate the platform, which gave legitimacy and prestige to MTV. Jackson died in 2009. He is remembered as one of the greatest selling musicians of all time, with an estimated 400 million album sales worldwide.
