UAF museum hosts event in honor of Black History Month.

Published: Feb. 8, 2024 at 5:43 PM AKSTFAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Museum of the North at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is hosting a “Celebration of Black in Alaska: Interior Edition” event on Friday, February 9 between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

February is Black History Month, and Alaska certainly has its share of fascinating history starring the Black community. The museum says they look forward to the event to “celebrate the diverse narratives of Black Alaskans.” A Black history in Alaska exhibit will be set up at the celebration and attendees will have the opportunity to get to know about the Black in Alaska multimedia project that, according to the Museum of the North, “examines the rich history and experience of Black life in Alaska through storytelling.”Copyright 2024 KTVF.
