Providoor, an online marketplace for high-end restaurants and food co-founded by celebrity chef Shane Delia during the COVID-19 lockdowns, has abruptly pulled down the shutters and entered liquidation.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of Providoor, a business borne out of the very worst days the hospitality industry has ever seen,” Mr Delia wrote. Mr Delia is best known for his Maha restaurant in Melbourne. He has previously credited Providoor’s growth for saving the business and its two smaller offshoots during the city’s extended lockdowns.
