The club have asked fans to avoid displaying any political banners or flags at Celtic Park tonight.
Celtic have again asked fans to avoid displaying any banners, flags or symbols relating to the conflict in Palestine and Israel during their clash with Atletico Madrid this evening.
The Green Brigade released another statement on Tuesday that again called on fans to show their support for the people of Palestine and offered to hand out flags of that war-torn nation outside the ground before the game. But Celtic have appealed for these not to be displayed at Parkhead during the Champions League clash.
"Many of our colleagues, supporters, friends and families have been affected by these events. Against this backdrop of conflict and pain, sport can promote peace and demonstrate humanity and empathy for all who continue to suffer. For the club’s UEFA Champions League match against Atletico Madrid this evening, Celtic and Atletico Madrid players and coaching staff will wear black armbands, as a show of respect and support for all those affected by the conflict.
