For her 10th birthday, Tash Garrity wished for a cure for her cerebral palsy. Now aged 24, cerebral palsy is just a sidenote in her life. The Sydney resident is making her younger self proud, playing a key role in researching early diagnosis and intervention — something she says could have changed her life.

” While supportive treatments, medications, and surgery can help many people with CP strengthen their motor skills and ability to communicate, experts say early intervention is key. Garrity is now a researcher with the CP Alliance’s epidemiology team, working to find ways to prevent and treat the condition.
