Tszyu fearful IBF champ will pull out | 02:11Australia’s Tim Tszyu looks set to throw down in his second straight American world title blockbuster – with his fight against IBF super welterweight champ Bakhram Murtazaliev reportedly set for October in Florida., Tszyu has been mandated to fight undefeated IBF world champion Murtazaliev in either Australia or the United States later this year, with negotiations on a date and venue currently underway.
While Tszyu’s Australian promoters No Limit have been extremely keen to bring the fight Down Under, the undefeated Murtazaliev has previously stated he would not travel to his rival’s backyard for the fight. Yet in sensational circumstances, that event was scrapped as IBF officials instead agreed to elevate Tszyu into a headliner against Murtazaliev .
Tszyu, meanwhile, will be in the unique position of looking to win a second world title belt immediately after losing his first – albeit in a narrow, and bloody, split decision loss to Fundora in March.Source: Getty Images
