BREAKING NEWS Champion jockey Damien Oliver has been taken to hospital after a racing accident.
Oliver, 49, is one of Australia's best known and most loved jockeys.Damien Oliver celebrates after winning the 2013 Melbourne Cup on Fiorente.
He first won the Melbourne Cup - Australia's most prestigious horse race - in 1995, and did it again in 2002 and 2013. His 2002 victory aboard Media Puzzle is one of the most memorable Cups in history, for the fact Oliver's brother Jason had died a week earlier in a racing accident. Oliver battled through the grief to ride in the Cup and won, saying afterwards he would give the trophy back to see his brother again.
