Maricopa County Sheriff's office is asking your help to call if you or someone you may know has any information related to the crime.
The temple is housed in an old farmhouse and there are several Buddha statues on the outside grounds including one tall one that stands above a small pond filled with lily pads.
The peace was disrupted Wednesday afternoon. Temple staff said a man asked to enter the temple, but it was closed so the monks directed him to the outdoor Buddha statue.“They use the axe to chop the Buddha,” said Khamasujarit. The vandalizer also chopped the two Buddha statues that normally sit at the entrance of the monastery before running off the property.
Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go toor download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.
