An application to make changes to a new flats plan at Preston Docks has been submitted
Previously approved plans to create new flats in the Preston Docks area, seeks variation of condition one in the original planning permission due to layout and appearance amendments to the proposed apartment block scheme.Following the grant of planning permission at The Point, Maritime Way, Preston, relating to the approval for 40 apartments . The proposed amendment includes a new suite of plans with minor changes highlighted.
The revised Site Plan will utilise the existing car parking available on site, while also providing an additional 17 car parking spaces, bringing the total number of car parking spaces at the site up to 50 spaces. The site will also create two motorcycle spaces, two dedicated disabled parking spaces, and two double stack parking spaces. It is trusted that the levels of parking provision at the site are appropriate for all types of users of the highway.The revised Ground Floor Plans have altered the ground floor of the building, removing two apartments in favour of a lobby and communal space, complete with seating areas.
It is also proposed to amend the elevations of the building to take into account the changes made at the ground floor level. The main changes are to ‘elevation 1’, whereby the windows located on the ground floor will be opened up, with the removal of the shutters and planter replacing these with glazing; ensuring that people utilising the breakout space can appreciate the view.
The planning statement said: “It is clear that the changes will have a negligible impact on all receptors and that there will be no negative impacts as a result of approving these amendments and as such it is requested that this application be approved without delay.”
