But something is amiss. Something isn’t right. Either the Chargers are underperforming or we have overestimated them greatly. Probably both are true, as we’ve seen during a stretch or games that dates to Staley blamed himself for Sunday’s defeat. He wasn’t wrong to accept responsibility. Kansas City found a way to win. The Chargers found another way to lose in a pattern of games going back to Jacksonville. Even when the Chargers won games this season, it seemed they were their own worst enemies.. Otherwise, if the Vikings and Raiders had actually converted on promising drives late in each game, the Chargers might be 0-6 going into Week 8.
