The charity would often help schools across Newark and Nottingham city centre
A Nottinghamshire charity that has helped children in need for more than 40 years is to close, it has been announced. Officials at Think Children, based at the Northgate Business Centre in Newark-on-Trent, said funding was being affected by the cost of living crisis and the effects of the coronavirus>Covid pandemic.
The charity was first established as the Juvenile Treatment Unit in 1981 and then renamed Think Children in the 1990s. The charity offered a unique approach to using play in a therapeutic way and the charity’s service still remained very much in demand and effective in supporting the mental health needs of children to this day.The team at Think Children were a group of Emotional Wellbeing Facilitators and office-based staff. They worked for years to help support children across Nottinghamshire.
