Stein admitted to dumping a plastic barrel, which the girl's body was found in, but claimed that Charlise's mother killed her own daughter. "Did Charlise call out mine or anyone else's name in a vain effort for help before her life was taken?"In his sentencing submissions, crown prosecutor Ken McKay SC argued Justice Helen Wilson should apply the maximum sentence of life in prison.
"The offender did this while the victim was in his care … and went to great lengths to try to avoid being held responsible and went so far as to accuse Charlise's mother," Mr McKay said.
