Charter Hall has snapped up two pubs in Adelaide for a combined $57 million, while the Ancient Britain in Glebe in Sydney’s inner west has changed hands for $25 million.

Located about 14 km north-east of the Adelaide CBD, the Highbury Hotel includes 40 gaming machines, a bistro, sports bar, function room, outdoor dining space and freestanding Dan Murphy’s.

The Village Tavern, about 20 km from the city centre in Golden Grove, includes 40 gaming machines, a bar and bistro, beer garden and drive-through Dan Murphy’s.Mr Fitch is the CEO and joint major shareholder of the Fitch Group which owns over $250 million of assets spanning the commercial, residential, manufacturing, retail and hotel sectors. Mr Fitch is also a director at ASX-listed mining company QEM and is the president and CEO of Toronto-based Class 1 Nickel.

The sale of the Highbury Hotel and Village Tavern was brokered by JLL’s Will Connolly, John Musca, Ben Parkinson, and Stuart Taylor who declined to comment.Alongside the sale of the two Adelaide pubs, the Ancient Briton in Glebe in Sydney’s inner west has sold for about $25 million to local pub baron Marc De Angelis, owner of numerous Sydney pubs including the Ingleburn Hotel.

Known by locals as “The AB”, the multi-level pub on a 481 sq m block on the corner of Glebe Point Road and Bridge Road was offloaded by the Seeto family, who had owned and operated it for almost 25 years.Advertisement The popular pub sold with a 5am early trading licence , as well as 25 gaming machines, a bar and bistro.“The AB is our fourth NSW hotel announcement already in January, and highlights the market confidence so prevalent already in 2023,” Mr Dragicevich said.
