Video footage showed people rushing to leave the shopping centre
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the bakery, located on the first floor of the Liscard shopping centre, at 2.28pm on Wednesday, August 23, following reports of a blaze. Two fire engines arrived at the scene eight minutes later and found a fire in the Poundbakery.
Video footage from the scene showed people rushing to leave the shopping centre, with reports of the facility being evacuated while emergency services dealt with the incident.Firefighters extinguished the blaze using one hose reel. Emergency services left the scene around one hour later.
