Some business leaders who are concerned about crime and corporate departures are backing one of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s challengers ahead of the Feb. 28 city election
CHICAGO—Some business leaders concerned about crime and corporate departures say they don’t think Mayor Lori Lightfoot is up to the task and are coalescing around one of her eight challengers, Paul Vallas, ahead of the city’s Feb. 28 election.
Mr. Vallas, a former Chicago public schools chief and past city budget director, has received enough campaign contributions from law firm partners, investment executives and others to run a competitive campaign.
