The hit-and-run crash occurred Saturday evening and the driver is still being sought.
Police in Gloucester County are looking for a hit-and-run driver who left a child hospitalized with serious injuries over the weekend.
The pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck around 6:40 p.m. Saturday on Malaga Road near Morgan Road in Monroe Township, according to township police. Authorities described the vehicle as a black 2009-2018 Dodge Ram pickup with damage to its front passenger headlight. After hitting the child with the passenger side of the truck, the driver stopped in the roadway, then continued toward Winslow Township, according to police.On Sunday, a relative of the victim posted on Facebook that the child was hospitalized with multiple injuries and awaiting surgery. She urged anyone in the area with a surveillance camera to check it for footage that could help in the investigation.
