She had been relying on government funding through this program but has now found it too difficult to use.
The ISP requires childcare services to detail the barriers preventing them from accommodating children with additional needs and involves working with parents to obtain documentation from doctors and therapists. Ms. Arnold says the process is becoming increasingly complicated and time-consuming, with many applications being rejected without clear reasons. The federal Department of Education has contracted private companies to manage the ISP, leading to difficulties in accessing the funding that was intended to support children with disabilities
