Yolanda Borucki, a former childcare manager, was cleared of computer hacking charges related to her disclosure of abuse allegations against Ashley Paul Griffith. The court found insufficient evidence to support the prosecution's claims.
A former childcare manager, Yolanda Borucki, has been found not guilty of computer hacking charges. Borucki had been accused of accessing her work computer and distributing private and confidential information to A Current Affair, a Nine Network television program, in relation to allegations of abuse against Ashley Paul Griffith, a notorious paedophile.
The prosecution alleged that Borucki sent 17 emails, including a copy of an investigation into Griffith's conduct, and that her actions caused financial detriment exceeding $5,000. Magistrate Kerrie O'Callaghan ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Borucki sent the emails or caused the alleged financial harm. The court also heard that Borucki's appearance on A Current Affair caused psychological distress to the parents of families involved in the investigation.
