Police officers were on the scene near Salford, Greater Manchester where a major investigation is taking place after a forensic team found a human torso in Kersal Dale.

The victim is believed to have been a white man aged over 40, who had only been dead for a matter of days. The force said that the search has been stood down, but its work on the complex investigation was 'far from over', as the force appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who was in the area between 6am and 6pm on April 4.Greater Manchester Police has urged the public to come forward with 'any information' about the gruesome find.
Police temporarily suspended bin collections during their search for other body parts, amid concerns the killer used one to hide remains.
