Two children were trapped in the sand at a beach in New Jersey when the hole they were digging caved in on them, police said.

Emergency crews were working to rescue two children who were trapped in the sand when the hole they were digging caved in at a beach at the Jersey Shore. just after 4 p.m., according to the Toms River Police Department.

"At approximately 4:09 PM police and EMS were dispatched to the beach entrance near Seaview Road on the barrier island for reports of juveniles trapped in the sand as it collapsed around them while digging,".
