He said Australia failed to tell the public how close its aircraft flew near the Chinese vessels, “so people could not tell if the Chinese vessels were forced to take defensive countermeasures”.played down the incident, saying almost all modern warships were equipped with the devices. “It cannot only disrupt some of the radar systems within the P8 surveillance plane, but it can blind the RAAF crew,” Mr Dutton told ABC radio on Monday.
Australian diplomats and defence personnel have already written to their Chinese counterparts to express their concerns about the incident.
