Chris Dawson will either be found guilty or acquitted over the murder of his wife Lynette Dawson 40 years ago in a case that has gripped the country.
The former teacher and rugby league player is accused of murdering Lynette Dawson and disposing her body in 1982 to continue his relationship with the family's teenage babysitter.
Mrs Dawson - who was a 33-year-old nurse at the time - mysteriously disappeared from her Bayside home in Sydney and her body has never been found. Dawson, 74, has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to murder and insists his wife had simply left the family after discovering the affair. Her family arrived to the NSW Supreme Court on Tuesday morning wearing items of clothing in her favourite colour pink.Justice Ian Harrison SC will hand down the verdict where he will either go back to trying to live the rest of his later life at home or be taken to Silverwater jail for his sentence.
