WA's Ombudsman tells the Corruption and Crime Commission he has voluntarily stood down as president of the international ombudsman body while the CCC probe into his lavish international travel is ongoing.

Chris Field is WA's Ombudsman, putting him in charge of investigating complaints about the administrative decisions of the public sector, local government and universities.He has now stepped down from his dual role as the head an international collective of global ombudsman groups, headquartered in Vienna.

Chris Field's dual roles have been under scrutiny at a series of CCC hearings that have heard evidence of lavish spending on overseas trips in his role as head of the International Ombudsman Institute . Yesterday it was revealed Mr Field had spent and hundreds of dollars on two chauffeur driven limousine trips in Rome that totalled just over two kilometres.
