The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) says the investigation into Chris Kaba's death could take six months - a timescale described by the family as 'unacceptably long'.
Jefferson Bosela, Mr Kaba's cousin, was also at the meeting."For now, the family are going to take a break and take a step back."said it would"explore all of the circumstances" surrounding the death of the rapper, including whether"race influenced any actions taken by the police".
IOPC regional director Sal Naseem said:"We fully appreciate that Chris Kaba's devastated family and the community have a lot of unanswered questions about his death. "We understand that people want answers quickly, but this is a complex investigation involving a significant amount of evidence.
