The film is produced by Vasquez Entertainment’s Gabriel Vasquez and Alan Powell and Steve Barnett of Monarch Entertainment.The genesis for the film started with Vasquez and Powell, who both had young families who frequently watched Disney films. They felt there was space for a vehicle that provided family-friendly entertainment and classic contemporary Christian music.
Cooke acknowledges the song’s usage will be a walk down memory lane for parents who grew up with Grant’s music. “Many of the adults who will take their kids to see this film grew up listening to Amy, either on Christian or pop radio, and she is deeply entrenched in their musical memories,” Cooke says.
The plot involves troubled teen Will Hawkins who has a run-in with the law and avoids a juvenile facility by instead going to a church youth camp. At first he’s a fish out of water, but soon finds friendship and acceptance.was directed by Roman White. The film is being financed and executive produced by Vicky Patel. Barnett, Powell, and Vasquez are producing. WIT Media’s Corby Pons is co-executive producing and Bailee Madison is associate producer.
