The total amount raised for the cause so far stands at £110,364, with contributions continuing to pour in.supported accommodation“Initially, it was set up for those young people living in Llamau accommodation but now we take referrals from other agencies too.”
Each young person who steps in through the door is given a bespoke programme of support, education and training. “We spend a lot of time getting to know them, getting to know what has worked and what hasn’t worked and getting them back into a mindset to learn.” “We become their safe space, an extension of their family”, said Ms Gardiner. Something which became apparent recently when one former learner returned to one of the centres on the day he received his first ever pay packet with a box of new trainers he had proudly bought.Another young person who dropped out of college after becoming suddenly homeless, joined the programme for two weeks when he had to move into emergency accommodation.
