Strand Arts Centre has been a registered charity since 2013 and attracts over 50,000 people per year
Ciaran Hinds is backing a campaign to help preserve and transform a historic Belfast cinema for future generations.
The centre is looking to the future and hoping to completely transform the iconic and treasured building, to preserve its 1930s heritage but deliver spaces and activities that meet the needs of its audiences and artists today. For the funding costs, 80% will come from a combination of Belfast City Council, National Lottery Heritage Fund, and other sources including trusts and foundations. The remaining 20% will come from a new 'Name a Seat' campaign launched by the Strand Arts Centre.
Seats can even be purchased as a gift for someone or can be in your own name or named for a loved one. The vision for the new Strand is for a fully modernised film and live performance venue, with the aim of engaging audiences of 100,000 people annually.
