NRL: Cameron Ciraldo has vowed that the Bulldogs will test everyone physically in their finals clash against the Manly Sea Eagles.
Speaking to media on Friday morning, the Bulldogs coach said he feels the club were “lucky” the incident occurred earlier in the week as it allowed his side time to prepare properly for the club’s first finals appearance in eight years.
Asked if the incident, and the ensuing furore, will instead serve as motivation for his side, the Canterbury coach insisted it wouldn’t. Sea Eagles superstar Tom Trbojevic enters the game under an injury cloud after missing his side’s Round 27 loss to the Sharks, though the Bulldogs coach conceded the No.1 won’t be getting any extra treatment from his side on Sunday.“ worry about our game. It’s going to be physical no matter who’s carrying the ball, so everyone will get tested physically.”
“Our attack has to help our defence too. We’ve just given up way too much possession, especially at the start of games and just put ourselves under pressure,” he said.“A couple of simple fixes there and there’s a few things in our system that we needed to address as well and we’re doing that.”While noting he was disappointed about his side’s performances in the last two weeks, Ciraldo stated his focus has been on the future, not the past.
“There’s a couple of simple fixes and a lot of that was about attitude. They look like they’ve got their attitude right this week.As for how the Bulldogs will replace Addo-Carr, the explosive Jeral Skelton has been named on the wing after missing Round 27 with a niggle, but Ciraldo admitted that could change.“Obviously Jeral. I thought Jonathan Sua did a great job last week. Blake Taaffe played a lot for us at the start of the year and he could be in and around our squad as well.
