The Weld County Critical Incident Response Team is investigating a Monday morning barricade that concluded with Greeley police shooting and killing a 35-year-old suspect.
At the scene, officers saw a hole in the wall of a shared duplex and heard another gunshot coming from the residence. Police surrounded the residence and tried to call the suspect out of the home.
The suspect barricaded himself in the attached garage, refusing to exit the home, the release said. As a result, the Greeley SWAT team responded.Officers tried several methods to safely apprehend the suspect, including less lethal munitions and irritants, but attempts were unsuccessful, according to the release. At 9:30 a.m.
