Long-time Citi banker and former Olympic rower Rob Jahrling is moving up to be the investment bank’s sole head of equity capital markets for Australia and New Zealand.
Hamish Whitehead, who recently movedJahrling is a former rower who represented Australia at three Olympics, winning a silver medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
The bank credited Jahrling with leading its work on Afterpay’s $1.5 billion convertible bond, Air New Zealand’s $1.2 billion rights issue and Sandfire Resources’s $1.2 billion placement and entitlement offer last year among other deals over the years. He also worked on Judo Bank’s $653 million initial public offering.A advisory work including BHP’s unification of its listings, Santos and Oil Search Merger and Woolworths’ demerger of Endeavour Group.
Jahrling would continue to report to Alex Cartel, Citi’s local investment banking boss and to its global ECM co-heads Douglas Adams and James Fleming.
