Saskatoon Light and Power is also working on a project in the downtown. The city’s electric utility has crews working on an upgrade of an electrical vault located underneath Second Avenue between 21st Street and 22nd Street. Work began in late April and is expected to last until mid-June. Once complete, the upgrades will enable future projects to update downtown electrical infrastructure.

Portions of Preston Avenue will be resurfaced between Preston Crossing and Eighth Street, and Schmidt said both sides of Wanuskewin Road will be resurfaced between 71st Street and Penner Road. Residential street sweeping starts next week and it’s warm enough for crews to fill potholes and utility cuts with hot-mix asphalt.

Drivers are also cautioned to give line-painting crews space by staying behind the pilot truck that accompanies the painting truck.
