The City of Bunbury says sorry to the iconic band, but insists the intention was not to drive away rough sleepers.
A West Australian council has apologised to the Wiggles song for playing one of the band's songs to deter antisocial behaviour at a site frequented by homeless people.
Chief executive Mal Osborne went a step further, and said he had apologised directly, in an email to the band, about the administrative decision. "We'd love to forget about Hot Potato," he said, but added that people were committed to helping tackle the homelessness issue.Mr Osborne stressed that the city had tried a number of measures, including trialling a separate shelter behind the sound stage and building lockers for the homeless.
