That’s all Yoxtheimer would need on the mound. He threw 104 pitches, scattering 8 hits and walking 1. He struck out 6 and was voted MVP of the series. “Offensively, we got guys on base a lot,” Mauldin said. “They turned some double plays on us. We couldn’t get the big hit when it mattered. We never quit. We had chances. You just have to tip your hat to Jax.”
